Buclatin earns PhD degree

Dr. Willie C. Buclatin, Chairperson of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Technology earned his degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Technology Management at the Technological University of the Philippines on March 26, 2018. 

Dr. Buclatin already served the University for more than 10 years as Industrial Engineering Instructor and Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers CvSU Student Chapter (PIIE CSC) Adviser. He is also a Professional Industrial Engineer and a registered AACCUP Accreditor.

Alcazar and Castillo presents research proposal

Profs. Mary Joyce P. Alcazar and Gerry M. Castillo, members of the program proposal to be led by Prof. Sheryl D. Fenol together with Dr. Ruel M. Mojica, have presented the program components to the members Advanced Materials Technical Panel  at the National Institute of Physics, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City on March 21, 2018.

Prof. Fenol also presented the other components of the program.

Castillo attends GA for production trainees

Prof. Castillo together with the production trainees from Cavite State University who are conducting their OJT in Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation.

Prof. Gerry M. Castillo, OJT Program Coordinator (BSIE, BSAE, BIT-AT) attended the Production Trainees General Assembly at Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) Corporation in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna on March 16, 2018. The assembly included safety seminar for the production trainees and a corporate meeting attended by Coordinators from various TMP partner schools in the country. 

Buclatin certifies as LSS Yellow Belter

Prof. Willie C. Buclatin, Chairperson of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Technology was given certification as Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Yellow Belter on March 17, 2018 at the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, Las Piñas City. The certification was given by the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers.

Lean six sigma yellow belter participates as a project team member and reviews process improvements that support the lean six sigma project.

Faculty members from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Technology presented their research proposals during the CvSU Research Grant (CRG) and Faculty Student Research Capability Enhancement Program (FSRCEP) Proposal Presentation at the Hostel Tropicana, Cavite State University on March 7, 2018.

Prof. Mary Joyce P. Alcazar presented the project entitled “Project PETMALU: Providing Efficiencies, Techniques, and Methods for the Attainment of a Lean University” while Prof. Gerry M. Castillo presented the project entitled “Project ERGO: Development of Ergonomically Designed Tools for Various Industries Utilization.” The two projects will involve all Industrial Engineering faculty members and students when approved. Prof. Willie C. Buclatin will lead the two projects. Moreover, Prof. Danielito R. Escaño presented the project entitled “Solar Powered Microcontroller-Based Coffee Sorter” The project will also involve other Industrial Technology Instructors in the department.

Castillo receives ASEAN award

Prof. Gerry M. Castillo, faculty member from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Technology was given recognition as Associate ASEAN Engineer during the 4th Philippine Engineering Summit and ASEAN Engineer Conferment at the Century Park Hotel, Manila on March 8, 2018. The award was given by the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations and the Philippine Technological Council (PTC).

Castillo, elected as CvSU FA Officer

Prof. Gerry M. Castillo, faculty member from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Technology elected as Business Manager of the CvSU Faculty Association, Inc. during its general assembly on February 8, 2018 at the SM Rolle Hall. 

Moreover, other elected officers of CvSU FA are the following: Prof. Gil Ramos (President), Prof. Orlando Delos Reyes (Vice President), Prof. Jocelyn Legaspi (Secretary), Prof. Merlie Nahilat (Treasurer), Prof. Gilchor Cubillo (Auditor), Prof. Bernard Feranil (PRO), and Prof. Edelyn Sabilla (Contractual Representative). They took their oath of office before Dr. Hernando D. Robles, CvSU President, on March 6, 2018.
